i applied for another job, but this one's way cooler. it's at pbs, and it's called "program assiciate." basically, the responsibilities are to watch pbs shows before they air (like american masters and masterpiece) and write up reports on them that get distributed at the company. so i'd watch tv and write about it. nice! they're looking for someone with film production experience, writing skills, and some familiarity with broadcast television. check, check, check!
here's why i really really want this job. at this point, i definitely need to get a real job - good salary, benefits, the works. and rather than be a secretary in a law office or something like that, which i could totally do, this job at pbs is actually in my field! way out here on the east coast - who'd have thought? i think i would do so much better mentally/emotionally in a job that i'm specifically qualified for, like this. it'd be nice for my degree to count for something, you know?
i should be hearing from them soon. say a prayer for me!

phone + jacuzzi = 2nd chance!
even though dropping a cell phone into a jacuzzi certainly voids the warranty, daniel spoke with the district manager and guess what...
they are mailing us a replacement phone, free of charge! hooray for that.
guess we're sticking with verizon =)

phone + jacuzzi = oops
yes, it's true, daniel dropped his phone in the jacuzzi. a sad day for team clark, but we trust that his little blueberry is in a better place. it was a cool new phone that was shiny blue and looked like a mini-blackberry. then you slide it open and that's where the keypad is. hence the name "blueberry." anyway...
now i'm thinking about shopping around for a better deal on cell phone service. we're with verizon, and pay kind of a lot sometimes, but i love my cute little light blue phone. and we'd have to break the 2-yr agreement. so maybe it's just as well that we stick with verizon. i don't know.
who is your cell phone service provider?

sad news first
the cottage has been bought - but not by us. sad for us. (to be read with a wistful sigh)
but! dear friends, i am on the hunt for more part-time work, so as to contribute more to the team clark grocery fund as well as to ward off cabin fever. here are my thoughts so far:
1) there is a new starbucks in the mall that is much nicer than the old starbucks in the mall. i've done plenty of barista-ing in my life, and have always enjoyed it. yes, it's true. i've enjoyed it a lot. and, hey, maybe i can be/become a shift manager, what with all my coffee experience.
2) bare essentuals is hiring for the holiday season, and they usually keep people on after the season. i'm serious, i LOVE bare minerals makeup. the stuff is AMAZING. i had a roommate in college who used it, and i've been a believer ever since. it's such a warm and soothing environment in the store, and i'd get to put makeup on people all day, and advise them what colors of eyeshadow complement their coloring best. sounds like fun to me! heather, you know i like to do peoples' makeup ;-)
3) my third choice so far is actually a tie between ann taylor loft in the new part of the mall, or bath and body works. the nice thing about ann taylor is the environment - chill. the nice thing about bath and body works is that it sells like hotcakes, so you don't have to bug the shoppers.
what do you think? i'm checking up on my applications tomorrow... cross your fingers!
